New in the fall of 2008, the seminar series focuses on Israeli culture and society at Harvard—a joint endeavor of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies and the Center for Jewish Studies. The goal of the seminar is to stimulate academic debate about the multifaceted nature of Israeli society by providing a monthly forum for leading scholars and writers. Topics will include Israeli law, literature, and society. Each session will feature a presentation by an invited guest speaker and a formal commentary from an invited respondent. The seminar will be open to the public, but is aimed primarily at Harvard students and faculty.
