The roughly 20 core faculty of CMES come from academic departments across the University. They are deeply involved with CMES projects and activities, teach courses focused on the Middle East, and many serve on the Faculty Committee on Middle Eastern Studies, as well as the CMES Steering Committee.

In addition to the core faculty, there are dozens of other faculty who teach and do research in subjects related to the Middle East. While they are not as deeply rooted in Center activities, they play an integral role in Middle Eastern Studies across Harvard.

In an ongoing effort to deepen scholarly understanding of the Middle Eastern and Islamic worlds, and to better educate the public about them, our faculty lecture widely and often in both academic and public settings.
