Nine
curriculum planners, teachers and administrators gathered at Harvard for a
two-day workshop on approaches and resources to consider to further curriculum
development on communities in the US from the Middle East region. Participants
in the workshop were part of the American Social History Project. Local
teachers from Lexington High School, Beaver Country Day School and Cambridge Rindge
and Latin High School also joined in the program, as did educators from the
Program in Religious Studies and Education at the Harvard Divinity School, the
Pluralism Project at Harvard and Arte East in New York City.
The workshop was organized by the
Outreach Center and Mott Middle College High School and Mott Community College
through grant funding from the Mott Foundation.
