Many schools in the New England area are teaching about the Israel-Palestinian conflict as part of World History II or elective contemporary events’ courses. The workshop was designed to provide resources for educators to consider using in the classroom and to learn from their peer-to-peer discussion of how to teach about the conflict from their own experiences.
The Outreach Center will work with participating educators to develop new resources and support mechanisms to aid in their work on the subject using notes taken from the workshop. This method of best practices workshoping is a new program method for The Outreach Center and is a powerful tool for listening and learning to educators.
The Workshop’s schedule is available for
download (PDF), as well as a
presentation (PDF) on using diverse resources to teach about contemporary issues in Israel and Palestine. Contact
The Outreach Center for more information about the Workshop, or for assistance on teaching about these matters in your classroom.
