Borrowing Policies

Eligibility

The Outreach Center lends its resources to K-12 educators, college lecturers and professors, and the general public. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact The Outreach Center.

Borrowing Procedure

  • Borrowers are required to register as a library patron and provide The Outreach Center with full contact information (name, email, phone number), name and mailing address of your educational institution, and the subject(s) and grade(s) you teach.
  • Books are checked out for a month at a time, and videos for a week at a time. If a borrower needs to extend the borrowing period of an item, s/he must contact The Outreach Center directly by email or telephone.
  • Materials are collected in person, but in special circumstances (where borrowers are located far from The Outreach Center, for example), materials can be mailed at no cost.
  • Materials can be returned in person or via insured mail. The Outreach Center does not provide postage. It is the borrower's responsibility to return items by the due date. An after-hours drop box is available at the side entrance of 17 Sumner Road.
  • Curriculum kits are shipped via Federal Express. It is the responsibility of the borrower to return the kit on time by insured mail. Federal Express or a similar service is preferred, but in all cases borrowers need to send materials with a service that provides a tracking number. This tracking number should be supplied to The Outreach Center by email when the materials are sent.
  • Please help us know how the materials were used. Accompanying the returned materials please include a brief email or letter that describes how the materials were used, the audience, and other details you may want to share. Your cooperation and input is greatly appreciated!
  • The Outreach Center reserves the right to charge late fees for materials not returned in a timely fashion, as well as a full replacement fee for materials lost.
