Please join the Outreach Center at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies and the Middle East Initiative at Harvard's Kennedy School as our 2008-09 academic year film series begins with a recent and controversial movie from Egypt, "The Yacoubian Building".

The film will be shown on Tuesday, October 7th from 6:15 to 8:00 pm, at a location TBD. Complimentary pizza and soft drinks will be available starting at 6:00 pm.

Film Description: Based on the best-selling novel by Alaa al-Aswany, "The Yacoubian Building" is a critical look at the politics of contemporary Egypt through the daily lives of five people whose lives intersect in the context of a busy apartment building in downtown Cairo.
