The Outreach Center is located at 17 Sumner Road in Cambridge, Massachusetts, beside the courtyard of the Knafel Building of the Center for Government and International Studies, and across from the Graduate School of Design. A 10-minute walk from Harvard Square, The Outreach Center is easily reached by public transportation.

Getting to The Outreach Center on Public Transportation

Walking Directions

The Outreach Center is a short walk from the Harvard Square T stop on the Red Line. Exit the T at the Church Street exit and enter through the main gates of Harvard Yard. Walk through Harvard Yard, bear left towards the modern gray and glass tiered Science Center building. Turn right at the Science Center and walk past Memorial Hall. Continue straight onto Cambridge Street and cross Quincy Street, passing the Graduate School of Design and the Knafel Building of the Center for Government and International Studies. Turn left onto Sumner Road. The Outreach Center is located at 17 Sumner Road, on the first floor of a Victorian house, halfway down the street on the left-hand side.

Driving Directions

Parking is extremely limited in and around Harvard Square. If you do not have pre-arranged parking or if you do not have time to search for a parking place, you should strongly consider taking public transportation. It is possible to purchase a one-day visitor’s pass to park in the Broadway Garage for $9. The Broadway Garage is located on Felton Street, between Broadway and Cambridge Streets.

From I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike) East

• Take the Cambridge/Allston exit (#18). Keep right after the toll plaza
• Go straight over the River Street Bridge
• Immediately make a left turn onto Memorial Drive
• At the third light, turn right onto JFK Street
• JFK Street becomes Massachusetts Avenue/ MA 2-A W
• Turn slight right onto Cambridge Street
• After passing the Graduate School of Design, turn left onto Sumner Road

From Massachusetts Avenue or Route 2A West

• Cross the Harvard Bridge and follow Massachusetts Avenue (Route 2A West) for 1.5 miles
• Turn slight right onto Cambridge Street
• After passing the Graduate School of Design, turn left onto Sumner Road

From Route 2 East

• Follow signs for Route 2 East as you approach Cambridge and bear right onto the Alewife Brook Parkway
• Pass the Alewife MBTA Station on the right
• Continue over the bridge, pass the Fresh Pond Mall on the left
• Follow signs for Route 2 East to Boston
• Take a left turn onto Memorial Drive (Route 2 East)
• Stay on Memorial Drive and turn left onto JFK Street
• JFK Street becomes Massachusetts Avenue/ MA 2-A W
• Turn slight right onto Cambridge Street
• After passing the Graduate School of Design, turn left onto Sumner Road
