The topic of this symposium is close to the hearts of many of us because Islamic finance is ultimately concerned with issues of equity and economic justice, and because micro-finance has proven to be a poverty-alleviating mechanism. We feel that there is a pressing need to discuss the feasibility of Islamic micro-finance.
The symposium brings scholars and professionals from both industries (micro -finance and Islamic finance) to discuss the role of the Islamic finance industry in expanding access to financial services to the poor, through existing micro-finance organizations or the development of new shari'a-compliant micro-finance organizations.
The event is FREE, but registration is required. If you have not registered yet, please reply by providing the following information.
