As part of Islam Awareness Week (March 12 - March 16, 2007), The Harvard Islamic Society Presents:
"Islam 101"
Come learn about the Faith of One-Fifth of the World's Population!
Have you wondered about the basics of the world's second largest religion? Curious about what followers of Islam practice and believe? You are invited to a brief introduction to the religion, led by Salma Kazmi of Harvard Divinity School. We plan to address many of the misconceptions spread by the media, including the status and treatment of Muslim women, similarities to other Abrahamic traditions, and the meaning of 'Jihad.' Come with questions! A short introduction will be followed by a Q&A session.
