As part of Islam Awareness Week (March 12 - March 16, 2007), The Harvard Islamic Society Presents:
"Islam and Modernity: An Odd Couple?"
Are Islamic ethics and law (shari'a) at odds with Western law? Can Muslims be both true to their faith and live normal lives in America and Europe? Will global trends inevitably lead to a "clash of civilizations" with Islam pitted against Modernity? These issues and more will be discussed by Dr. Muneer Fareed, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the largest Muslim organization in North America. Food will be served.
Where: Harvard Hall 104
