Lara Deeb is a member of the Editorial Committee for Middle East Report, and the Book Reviews Editor for the Journal of Middle East Women's Studies. She is also a founding member of the Radical Arab Women's Activist Network and the Task Force for Middle East Anthropology. She is an Assistant Professor of Women's Studies in the School of Humanities at the University of California - Irvine, and is currently appointed as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies in Harvard University's Weatherhead Center for International Affairs.
