The Cartoons that Shook the World (Based on the speaker's recent publication of the same name)

Jytte Klausen is an associate professor of politics at Brandeis University and a research associate at the Center for European Studies at Harvard University.Klausen’s most recent book is the Islamic Challenge: Politics and Religion in Western Europe (Oxford University Press, 2005). She is also the author of Europas muslimische Eliten: Wer sie sind und was sie wollen,  War and Welfare: Europe and the United States, 1945 to the Present (1998, 2001), and numerous articles and chapters on the European welfare state and social cohesion.

She is co-editor of Has Liberalism Failed Women? Assuring Equal Representation in Europe and the United States (with Charles S. Maier, 2001) and European Integration in a Social and Historical Perspective: 1850 to the Present (Louise A. Tilly, 1997). Klausen is past chair of the European Political and Society section of the American Political Science Association. She has been a British Academy Visiting Professor at Nuffield College (2003) and a Bosch Fellow at the American Academy in Berlin (2004).
