"Translation Studies and Islamic Literature in the West"

A look into the value of translation studies for understanding modern Muslim
movements operating in the West. Special attention will be paid to English
translations of theological and legal literature as well as the Qur'an.
The GSAS Student Workshop is a forum for all graduate students at Harvard
interested in learning or researching the different topics of Islam and Muslims
in Europe and in the United States: immigration, religion, secularism,
international dimensions, gender, race and ethnicity, political participation
and citizenship, etc.
