Participants in the Egypt Forum, a 12-month professional development program for educators, returned from the travel portion of program in Egypt in late April.

While in Egypt the group toured Pharoanic, Jewish, Coptic and Islamic monuments, and met with a variety of journalists, education professionals, teachers, and everyday folks.

“I was amazed at how much I learned while in Cairo….”, said Karman Mak, a geography teacher at Roxbury Prep Charter School, “….being able to share my photos and experiences with my students and my colleagues has been awesome. Students are constantly asking me about it and love hearing my stories.”

The Egypt Forum will be offered again in 2009. Contact cmesoc@fas.harvard.edu for more information.
