CMES strongly recommends that applicants start their funding search as early as possible. The following sites provide information and tools for researching scholarships and fellowships. Please note: The web sites will lead you to sites outside of CMES; we are not responsible for the contents of any of these sites.

  • Finaid.org — The SmartStudent Guide to Financial Aid
  • Fast Web — Financial aid search
  • U. S. Department of Education
  • Javits Fellowships — This program provides fellowships to students of superior academic ability—selected on the basis of demonstrated achievement, financial need, and exceptional promise—to undertake study at the doctoral and Master of Fine Arts level in selected fields of arts, humanities, and social sciences.
  • National Science Foundation Funding Search — Tool to search database of NSF funding opportunities.
  • The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans — Grants for up to two years of graduate study in the United States. Thirty fellowships are awarded each year. Each year of the program, the fellow will receive a maintenance grant of $20,000 and a tuition grant of one-half the tuition cost of the U.S. graduate program attended by the fellow.
