Planning an Event through CMES

CMES sponsors many events each academic year, including seminars, lectures, receptions, conferences, workshops, round-table discussions, concerts, and film screenings.

We’ve developed this part of our website to help those who plan events. Using the links on the left side of the page, you’ll find detailed information about planning small events (lectures, receptions, etc.), and large events (1–3 day conferences, workshops, etc.), including information about everything from reserving space to budgeting to publicizing your event.

In addition to reviewing these pages, it is important that you arrange an initial meeting with CMES staff before proceeding with your event.  Students working on faculty-lead events should contact Kristin Brown.  Event organizers who have been approved for CMES funding should be in touch with Alison Howe.  

Recognized student groups planning to sponsor events are assisted by the Dudley House Office.
