On October 25, 2006, CMES launched the first phase of its brand new website. The new site was envisioned and created to better serve the CMES community in a number of ways: first, to organize the site to be more user-friendly and audience-specific; second, to improve the quality and breadth of the content; third, to enable CMES staff to update it more easily; and fourth, to allow every-day users (students, staff, faculty, etc.) some ability to interact with the site through the creation of web tools and forms.
CMES staff, led by Kris Evans, worked diligently all summer (and into the early fall) with the help and expertise of Elytra Design and Redfin Solutions, local web development companies, to build and launch the new site. The CMES web development team consisted of:
- Kris Evans, Project Coordinator
- Hannah-Louise Clark
- Barbara Petzen
- Alison Howe
- Susan Kahn
- Hakan Karateke
- Alireza Doostdar
- Heidemarie Woelfel
Other content providers include:
- Steve Caton
- Roger Owen
- Dilek Barlow
- Jocelyne Cesari
- William Granara
- Don Babai
- Susan Gilson Miller
- Dalia Yasharpour
- Rachel Goshgarian
With phase one complete, CMES will be moving into phase two, which entails the continuation of content integration, implementation of more web tools and the migration of event and event proceedings data from the old site to the new one.
