To apply for one of the appointments outlined in Affiliation Distinctions, please submit an application with all necessary materials by December 16, 2009 (for academic year 2010-2011). Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A complete Visiting Researcher application includes:
Applications must be submitted in one of two ways.
1) You may scan all documents into one single PDF document and then email your complete application to cmes@fas.harvard.edu. Please put "Visiting Researcher application" and your name in the subject line.
2) You may print out and mail all materials to:

Other information about applications and appointments:
The submitted application materials are reviewed by the prospective faculty sponsor and, upon her/his initial approval, are circulated to CMES Steering Committee Members for a vote. All applications must indicate a desired faculty sponsor. You will be contacted with a decision by March when all final decisions are made.
Appointments are not final until they have been approved by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Governing Boards of the University. Appointments cannot be made for less than three months or for more than one year at a time, though they can be renewed (by applying for a renewal). Please see the stipulations within each appointment type to determine how many times you may request a renewal of your appointment.
